It is our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Through Girl Scout programs, girls are exposed to many opportunities to try new things and get out of their comfort zones, figure out what they are drawn to, and see women in careers they didn't know existed. Girls cannot dream what they cannot see, and Girl Scouts helps them see the limitless possibilities.

Siouxland Girl Scout Membership Campaign
Project Details
The sisterhood and safe space provided by Girl Scout programming is needed now more than ever. It’s important to us to support girls and volunteers and eliminate any barriers to participating in Girl Scouts. For the upcoming membership year, we are offering free membership for all girls and adult volunteers in Siouxland. The Girl Scout mission builds girls of courage, confidence, and character and with your help, we can put this mission into action by guaranteeing all girls can join Girl Scouts in a year when girls need it most.
The $25 annual membership fee, normally paid by all new and returning Girl Scout members, supports the cost of technology, liability insurance, materials, and research in girl programming. Your support of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is more critical than ever- we need your help to waive registration fees for all members and continue providing high quality programs to girls in Siouxland.
Every $25 you donate to Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa will fund a year of programming for one Siouxland Girl Scout. Our goal for Siouxland Big Give is to fund 40 Girl Scouts!
Financial Assistance for 20 Girl Scouts in Siouxland
Project Details
Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa provides financial assistance for girls living below the poverty line to join Girl Scouts. Scholarships are 100% locally funded by compassionate supporters like you. In the 2018-2019 school year, 117 girls in Siouxland receieved financial assistance. There is a growing population of girls who need financial assistance to join Girl Scouts.
We need your help. We are receiving new scholarship applications every day.
Every $55 gift received directly translates into a year of membership and a uniform to proudly display their hard-earned STEM and outdoor badges for a Girl Scout in need. Help impact 20 Girl Scouts in Siouxland by donating today!
Financial Assistance for Siouxland Girl Scouts
Project Details
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects. At Girl Scouts, girls get to lead their own adventures and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that interest them most. The idea is to learn by doing, and at Girl Scouts, we do lots of it. Along the way, girls gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience: 1) Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); 2) Outdoors; 3) Life Skills; and 4) Entrepreneurship. While girls may be exposed to these subjects at school, in other youth programs, or even on their own, at Girl Scouts girls experience them in a unique way that puts them on a path to a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success. And because our program is girl-led, girls decide what they’ll do, together.
Girl Scouts is for every girl. Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa (GSGI) provides financial assistance for girls who would otherwise not have the opportunity to join Girl Scouts. For families needing the assistance, the process is simple. For girls who want to go to camp, GSGI helps with camp scholarships too! The membership fee to join Girl Scouts is $25. The uniform costs approximately $30. Our goal of raising $2,000 will provide financial assistance 36 Girl Scouts in Siouxland.
