This Year's Project: Stayin' Alive

About Our Organization

LAMB Arts Regional Theatre and School Mission: is to showcase outstanding theatrical productions and innovative arts curriculum that enrich lives. LAMB has a very strong community presence and believes that arts experiences should be available for everyone. LAMB Theatre presents 8-10 productions a year and has a 147 zip code mailing list . The LAMB School serves students throughout the Siouxland region and has a healthy scholarship program for students of need. The LAMB School has co-partnered in arts programs presented by other nonprofits and LAMB Theatre has a Projects of Hope program which gifts a nonprofit organization with one of the performances of a production to use the income in any way the nonprofit desires.

Current Project: Stayin' Alive

These are extraordinary times.   The funds that are raised through Siouxland Big Give will be used to 'fill in the numerous cracks" left when a theatre season is truncated and our school goes to 9 week workshops rather than year round classes. We ARE producing live theatre with patrons seating socially distanced and masked and are offering on demand streaming of our productions this season as well. However, these revenue sources are far below what is needed each season.   As we continue to fundraise for the move to 625 Douglas (Sioux City's first auditorium) we also need to keep the "home fires burning" .

Past Projects

  • LAMB Theatre's move to Downtown Sioux City

LAMB Theatre and School's capital campaign to move their operations to 625 Douglas (across the street from the Woodbury County Court House) was given a another big boost by being awarded a second $250,000 Challenge grant.   That means that every dollar donated will be matched!  So join us in this exciting project!  Projected interior renovation and remodel is scheduled to begin the summer of 2020 with the opening of the building projected for March 2022.

  • Double Your Gift to the 625 Douglas New Performing Arts Center

The Gilchrist Foundation granted a $250,000 challenge grant to the LAMB Theatre capital campaign project to restore and re-imagine the original Sioux City Auditorium circa 1909, located at 625 Douglas Street. This $11.5 million dollar project will restore the exterior of the building back to its 1909 glory while the interior is re-imagined with two theatres, a cabaret theatre, classrooms and sky lit atrium. This beautiful renovation will save an historic building and be another highlight in downtown Sioux City.
