About Our Organization
Plains Area Mental Health Center is a non-profit behavioral health center that covers nearly the entirety of northwest Iowa. We offer an extensive range of outpatient services, and we are also one of the very few behavioral health centers that accept both Medicare and Medicaid! First time customers need only stop in one of our locations to be seen by a professional, and we make every attempt to work out behavioral health services at a rate individuals can afford.
Plains Area Mental Health Center is one of the only behavioral health centers in northwest Iowa, and this year we would like to extend our access to those who are underinsured or those who do not have insurance! All donations will go directly towards financially assisting those who are underinsured/have no insurance.
Parents of children needing behavioral health services will recieve first priority to financial assistance, but finnacial assistance will not be withheld from someone in need!

Plains Area Mental Health is hoping to raise $40,000. With these funds we are going to purchase a van to use for day habilitation transportation for people with serious mental illnesses (SMI). This will allow us to reliably transport clients and remove barriers that prevent them from accessing services offered. It will also allow this service to further assist persons with SMI to experience activities and social events that they would not normally be able to access. Nobody should be ashamed & nobody should be shamed for seeking mental health services.
